    I joined a group of students, sponsored by Maryville college in St. Louis to stay a week in New Orleans. During this time we merged with a large camp to carry out relief work, following the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Our time was spent gutting damaged homes, clearing out warehouses and handing out food, clothing, bath items and more.

An industry that supplies and sustains our nation (and others), but has become so easily forgotten by a population that unknowingly and thanklessly depend on every ounce of material being moved.

    It's always been said, for a documentarian to make the best story possible, he or she should shoot what they know... and coming from a multi-generational family of river boat captains, the river is what I know and its an honor to document these guys and tell their story.

I’ve expanded my abilities as part of the leasing staff and later a shifting property manager for the Bay Area’s foremost multi-family housing group.

    After living in Chicago a few years, my fiancee and I were given the unique opportunity to chase our dreams in a new land.     Over 350 submissions were received, with 54 finalists selected for showcase.

    All proceeds were donated to the Lighting Project for the Harvey Milk Photo Center.
