    Program Summary & Highlights

    The Wave Gifts Foundation is working with members of the University of New Mexico (UNM) leadership and other non-profit, for-profit and government organizations to implement The New Mexico Community Wellness and Prosperity Project.

    The project will enable mentors and volunteers to exchange their community service time (Social Capital) for affordable, timely access to: healthcare; increased student success; lifelong learning; new economic opportunities; and match available, underutilized resources (food, clothing & shelter) with unmet needs for those who serve.

    Goal: Initiate a financially sustainable path to wellness & prosperity for all New Mexicans who perform community service by enabling affordable Access-2-Resources.

    Objectives:

    1.Deploy the Access-2-Resources Networking System to enable mentors & volunteers to exchange their community service time for affordable access to:

    a. Timely & affordable health & wellness care;
    i. Provide cost effective alternatives to employers and employees
    ii. Address healthcare needs of the uninsured
    iii. Effective delivery of healthcare to Medicaid/Medicare members
    b. Improved student success via community service-based training;
    i. Literacy wellness
    ii. Internships
    iii. Lower costs
    c. Increased economic opportunity (jobs & business); &
    i. New jobs through volunteer-2-work opportunities
    ii. New business creation
    iii. Enhanced business operations
    d. Life’s critical resources (food, clothing & shelter)

    2. Measure outcomes via a 10 year New Mexico Community Wellness & Prosperity Study
