Burn out means you are not having fun! Content marketing can be absolutely fun, especially if you or your stakeholders are willing to inject their personality into the marketing. If you are not already doing this chances are your content marketing strategy isn't very interesting. People want to follow people driven brands these days. We buy products from people not companies. Start with manageable goals. Post once a day on linked in etc. Almost anyone can write a linked in post every day. That's easy, not up the game on the medium. 5 posts a week and one video. The more you can shift your strategy to video and showcase the personality and expertise of the people who work at your company the better. Use reddit for trend research too.

From the business development side, its all around setting goals and processes. To some degree, you need to be coin operated and you need numbers. If you aren't getting in front of people you won't close deals. I try and use tools like my CRM or Reply.io to make sure that I have some number of outreach going out all the time weather or not I'm driving it myself. This allows me to stay current with large portions of people. I also set goals around content creation, one podcast, linked in post or video across my social media per day. This also allows me to keep top of mine and pull clients into my world for conversations instead of annoying them. Set goals around tactics like social selling, spending time in your linked in feed and commenting

I'll chime in here from the agency side. Just set reasonable expectations from the begging. The worst thing that can happen on a campaign is when talent just ghosts with no communication when a deadline is looming and you turn us into nags. Set reasonable expectations and let us know if timelines look to tight. Also let us know up front how you see a brand fitting into your normally dropped content vs. us asking you to make a commercial. Clients always have an idea of how they want their brand positioned but you are the expert / creator and that's why we hired you. If there's a way to present the brand to your audience that you think will perform better let us know. Then report back to us with what happened. Send screenshots or a wrap up.

Is this a question about being a player coach? We'll, lets go with it. I've only ever been in sales leadership positions where I was also asked to carry the largest quota in addition to running the team. I prefer these types of leadership roles. It would be hard to keep me out of the field and not calling on customers myself. I think its also important to foster a culture where your reps don't look at you as competition but they do respect you since you are walking in their shoes. I always error on the side of generosity, farming out meetings that I cant take, giving them leads, showing up to meetings and helping with the close, being present to help with strategy, all while working my own account list, book of business and prospecting.

All sales people have to become creators. I know its not why we got into this but its becoming harder and harder to meet people cold. Email is impossible now due to AI and spam and people don't really take in person meetings anymore so you have to attract clients to you. How do you do that? Put out your best strategies and tactics for free and hopefully people will want more of it. Find the style that you are most comfortable communicating with an audience, I hate writing (even thought I'm doing it here) so I prefer a live stream podcast format so I don't have to do any editing. You would be really surprised on the quality of guests you can get for a show that is just getting started. People love to talk, and people love a platform.

This seemed like a no brainer to me but having a start a middle and a end is a pretty good place to start. What are your brand assets? Whose going to be the main character that's going to take viewers along for the ride? Is it your CEO? Look at the transformation that Mark Zukerberg has made at Facebook both for you own personal brand and facebook by letting people into his personal life by appearing on long form podcasts like Rogan and documenting his exploration of Jujitsu and combat sports. He's completely turned around his brand image by taking people on a deeper journey of who he is as a 360 exec. You need to build out loud, document your journey as a founder as you build your company and brand. Our obsession with shark tank is proof.
