“March 5, 2015 Recommendation for Ayden Syal To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to recommend Ayden Syal for your consideration of his skills and character. I’ve known Ayden since 2009 as his Freshman Theology teacher, when he entered our distinguished Seton Scholars Program. My first thought about Ayden is of the academic achievement and the integrity of character he demonstrated in my theology class. In my Honors Theology course, Ayden completed an intensive introduction to the topics and methods of contemporary theology, including historical-critical analysis of the New Testament and historical studies of Christian doctrine. Ayden engaged in a seminar- style, close reading and discussion of The Four Loves by C. S. Lewis. He fulfilled reading and writing requirements at the highest level of demand placed on freshmen students at our school. Ayden showed daily his mental acuity in his insightful comments and carefully-crafted arguments. He also excelled in the comprehension of major themes in early church history.
