Create or delete a profile in another language

You can create your profile in a language that is different from your default profile. Having multiple language profiles makes it easier for other members and recruiters to find you. You can also change the language of your primary profile.

Important to know

The feature is not available on the LinkedIn mobile app.

To create your profile in another language:
  1. Click the Me icon at top of your LinkedIn homepage.

  2. Click View Profile.

  3. Click the Edit icon next to Profile language on the right pane.

  4. Click Add language next to existing language on the Profile language settings pop-up window.

    Here's a tip

    If you've already added your profile in additional languages, click the dropdown under Primary profile language to switch your primary language profile to another language.

  5. Choose a language from the dropdown list and update your first name and last name if they're different in the new profile's language.

    • If the language you want to add isn't listed in the dropdown, your current profile may already be in that language.

    Important to know

    To make the secondary language your primary language, switch the toggle Yes next to Make primary language on the top of the pop-up window.

  6. Translate your existing Headline.

    Here's a tip

    Translations aren't done for you. You'll need to add or translate your own personal content by editing your secondary language profile.

  7. Click Create Profile.

  8. Click Done.

To delete a secondary language profile:
  1. Click the Me icon at top of your LinkedIn homepage.

  2. Click View Profile.

  3. Primary and secondary languages appear in the right pane of your profile page.

  4. Click the Language icon next to the listed languages.
  5. Click the X next to the language in which you want to delete your profile.
  6. Click Remove from the popup window.
Notes:
  • Viewers will see your profile in the language that matches the one they're using the site in. If they're using the site in a language that you haven't created a secondary profile for, they'll see your profile in the language of your primary profile.
  • If you've created another language profile, viewers have the option to manually choose the language they want to view your profile in from the dropdown menu on the right rail of the page.
