Troubleshoot adding your LinkedIn education experience to your profile

Last updated: 8 months ago

When you add education experience to your profile, you can associate your school's University Page if they have one. If you're unable to associate your school's page, there might be a few reasons.

See below for possible issues you might encounter when adding a school to your Education section, and what to do next:

  • Your educational institution doesn’t have a Page.

    • If you search for the school on LinkedIn and can’t find any results, that might mean a University Page hasn't been created for the school yet. If your educational institution doesn't have a Page, contact your educational institution and ask them to create a Page. You can still add the educational experience without linking a Page, but you cannot add a logo this way.
  • Your educational institution’s Page isn’t a University Page.

    • To confirm whether it's a University Page check that the URL contains "school". For example: https://www.linkedin.com/school/xyz. If the "school" portion says "company" or "showcase" instead, you won't be able to associate this page with your education experience. If your educational institution isn't currently set up as a University Page, contact your educational institution to reach out to us to convert their Page to a University Page. Only a current admin of the Page can request conversion to a University Page.
  • There's multiple Pages with a similar name.

    • If there is a Page with a similar name as your school, double check that you're associating the correct Page. Typing out the full name helps make sure you are looking at the correct Page. You can also check the University Page to see if the details match the school you are trying to associate.
