The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contracted Woolpert to move its dredging quality management (DQM) database and tracking system from an on-prem server to Microsoft Azure, a cloud service provider. The project was more complex than usual, as the US Army Corps of Engineers couldn't risk encountering failures or interruptions in service since the DQM database and tracking system played such a significant role in the nation's betterment. Woolpert Geospatial Technical Consult Jeff Mroz published an article explaining how Woolpert approached the cloud migration to ensure a seamless transition to Microsoft Azure. Congratulations and great job, Qassim Abdullah!
I feel privileged and honored to be invited to deliver a keynote speech at the 2024 IEEE Systems and Technologies for Remote Sensing Applications Through Unmanned Aerial Systems (STRATUS) Conference that was held last week at the State University of New York in Syracuse. The STRATUS Conference brings together academics, industry representatives, and domain specialists to share perspectives on rapidly evolving topics ranging from the latest challenges in UAS platform design and technology to sensor design, information gathering and processing, and modeling to produce data that support decision-making. I had the pleasure to address attendees through my keynote and side discussions on the importance of following best professional practices and guidelines when conducting drones' business, especially to the newcomers recently introduced to the geospatial mapping business. Thanks to the program committee chaired by Bahram Salehi and Emmett Ientilucci, PhD for inviting me to this great conference. Woolpert #STRATUS2024
