On June 14, 2009, Trooper Jorge Dimas, 23 years of age and an 11-month veteran of the Wisconsin State Patrol made the ultimate sacrifice when he lost his life due to injuries he sustained in the line of duty while working traffic patrol in Polk County. The Wisconsin State Patrol is the highway patrol for the state of Wisconsin and is a division of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. We enforce traffic and criminal laws, oversee the motor carrier safety and weight facilities (SWEFs), inspect and regulate motor carriers, school buses, and ambulances, and assist local law enforcement agencies with response to incidents as needed.

WSP 69th RECRUIT CLASS UPDATE – WEEK 19 This week, the 69th Recruit Class was taught Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST) and learned about drugs that impair. It is the mission of the Wisconsin State Patrol to provide exceptional public safety services and one of our core enforcement efforts is operating while under the influence (OWI) laws. In addition to their studies, the class partook in the Murph Challenge, which includes 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and a 1-mile run.
