Our latest research study shows the Waymo Driver is making roads safer for pedestrians, cyclists and other vulnerable road users. Compared to human drivers over 56.7 million miles and regardless of who was at fault, the Waymo Driver had: - 92% fewer pedestrian crashes - 82% fewer cyclist crashes - 82% fewer motorcyclist crashes For the first time, our research disaggregates safety performance across 11 different crash types, providing a new level of insight into the Waymo Driver’s safety impact. These findings represent our most comprehensive crash rate analysis to date and demonstrate how Waymo can support Vision Zero initiatives by significantly reducing serious crashes and making streets safer for those most at risk.
