VERA WANG HAUTE SPRING 2024 COLLECTION "The Spring 2024 Vera Wang HAUTE Collection represents my very personal take on evening dressing. With the 35th anniversary of my company, my 75th birthday, and my 55th year in fashion all on the horizon next year, my intention was to curate my own interpretation of some of the more obvious tropes of evening fashion such as tuxedo dressing, ballgowns, romantic dresses, and lingerie inspired pieces... all intended to be viewed not just from the front or back but froma 360 degree perspective with great emphasis on the side to three quarter silhouette... not unlike performance clothing. There is also great focus on the interplay between tailoring and fluidity, mixtures of proportions and volumes and many handcrafted details such as handstitched trapunto, bias draping and traditional evening fabrics bonded with modern interlinings such a scuba to create, in someinstances, both weight and substance. Also deliberate is the absence of extravagant embellishment with the main emphasis on silhouette. After over three decades devoted to dressing Hollywood and celebrated brides, this is a collection that can be reinterpreted and styled in countless ways. COLOR this season in gossamer ball- gowns can be reappropriated as wedding dresses.
