Carthage College is hosting an in-person FAFSA completion night on from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 3, for all Racine families at Hedberg Library on Carthage's campus. This hands-on workshop is open to all, even if you are not planning on attending Carthage. A Spanish-speaking staff member will be available for needing that service. We recently celebrated the end of another successful year of Schools of Hope. Students at Racine Unified School District Knapp Elementary, Julian Thomas Elementary, AoR Mitchell and Wadewitz Elementary were gifted 10 books each to continue their reading journey over the summer. Thank you to the tutors for their dedication!

We recently hosted our inaugural United Horizons Board Training session. Participants were warmly welcomed by our President & CEO Ali Haigh, Racine County Director of Data and Performance Analytics Travis Richardson and The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread President Marcus White. We look forward to seeing this group learn and grow as they embark on this exciting journey.

We'd like to highlight one of the grant recipients of our Equity Innovation Fund: SecureFutures (Teen Financial Literacy Education, Tools, and Mentoring)’s Money Coach. This project aimed to enhance financial literacy education for high school students in Racine. Money Coach is an innovative financial mentoring program serving teens from under-resourced communities. We're proud to spotlight one of our Equity Innovation Fund grantees: The LGBT Center of SE Wisconsin’s Transgender Resource Project. This initiative provides valuable resources through a website, including a searchable list of medical professionals experienced in transgender care, along with legal aid and housing assistance. Additionally, it offers training for community partners and providers on gender affirming care.
