Congratulations to Jenna Watson, a nurse at Samaritan Hospital's Burdett Birth Center, as she was recently named as a recipient of the prestigious DAISY award! Jenna was nominated by a grateful patient: "Jenna ‘saved my life’! After 48+ hours of induction, my baby girl finally decided to come into the world. She was my 3rd baby and the most painful labor. I thought I was going to die as I was giving birth. I started crying and hyperventiliating when Jenna came to my rescue!! Jenna placed her hand on my chest, looked me in the eye, and coached me back to calm breaths. When she looked me in the eye and told me I was going to be okay, I believed her like I have never believed anything before. She was my saving angel that day and whenever I whenever I think of my daughter's birth, I feel thankful to have had Jenna's calming and beautiful soul by my side.”

The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) paid a visit to Loyola University Medical Center this morning to discuss their 4th Magnet designation. The LUMC nursing team had a delightful surprise in store for them! Achieving Magnet status is an honor granted to only 10% of hospitals globally and securing our 4th redesignation will place LUMC among an elite 2% of hospitals to reach this level of recognition. Thank you, Loyola University Medical Center Nursing, for the exceptional care you provide for our community every day.

"We are excited to have David lead our West Region," said Ben Carter, chief operating officer for Trinity Health. "His knowledge and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to advance our mission and care for patients in the communities we serve." David has been a leading voice in health care for nearly 20 years, and has served as the President of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center since 2020. His leadership, commitment to civic engagement, and community service have helped bring mission-driven growth to the colleagues, providers, and patients of the Saint Alphonsus community. “I look forward to continuing the legacy that Odette Bolano has paved for the Idaho, Oregon and California region," said David McFadyen. "Over the last four years, we have navigated through a global pandemic, endured the post-pandemic aftershock and despite this, have refined fiscal and operational efficiencies, and developed our service lines to reach extraordinary levels. With this solid foundation, I look forward to continuing to work with our medical staff, leaders, and colleagues to continue transforming health care, keeping quality health care local, and making it accessible for our communities.” David will begin his new role on July 1, 2024.
