Chief Resident Physician in Foot and Ankle Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
Residency…✔️ I cannot believe 3 years has come and gone, just like that. Last night was such a beautiful evening celebrating my graduation from residency with the ones I love. This graduation was the first one I’ve ever had without my dad, I pray he is so proud of me and shining from above. I miss you everyday and will continue to make you proud. I want to say thank you to my family, friends, loved ones, mentors, colleagues and all those who have supported me and guided me through my career journey. Your love and encouragement has sustained me through this journey and it means everything to me. I couldn’t have done this without you all. I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of my attendings who have sacrificed their time, for their dedication, expertise and unwavering commitment to aid in my growth as a physician and help propel my career forward. Thank you The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for such an invaluable residency experience with exceptional physicians that I had the honor and privilege of working and training with. As I stand on the threshold of this pivotal moment, I reflect on the countless hours spent honing the skills, and the invaluable lessons learned through both triumphs and challenges. As I transition from a resident to a fully-fledged physician, I want to carry forward the invaluable experiences gained, the challenges overcome, and the patients whose lives I’ve touched. Congratulations to all the graduates and my fellow co-resident, on reaching this milestone, and may our futures be filled with continued growth and fulfillment. Through it all, one guiding light has remained constant: All glory to God. May His grace continue to guide me in all that I do. Thank you Jesus, You are so good! I’m not done yet. I’m excited to announce that I will embark on and pursue a reconstructive foot and ankle surgery fellowship this August. I will also serve as the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons fellowship committee fellow member this year! The marathon continues… With Love, Dr. D ❤️

What a day for the books! Getting to spend a day on this hill with wonderful Ohio colleagues including a very cool team from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center advocating for the nursing profession and workforce on behalf of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership We also had the privilege of attending a briefing on Capitol Hill sponsored by the nursing caucus where an expert panel including The Ohio State University College of Nursing Dean Karen Rose, Brent Gordon, and Justin Bala-Hampton, DNP, MPH, MHA, RN, AGACNP-BC, AOCNP discussed the very important issues of the nursing pipeline and Congressman Dave Joyce from Ohio gave his remarks! Thank you to all the staff of the offices who asked some of the best questions I’ve gotten about some very important pieces of legislation! A big thank you to Colleen O'Brien and all of the NGAA executive sponsors for giving me the opportunity to attend! And a very special shout out to one of my favorite people and fellow John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University colleague Julie Macmann for taking such good care of us in DC! #osuwexmed Jake Schmitt Ashley Peters, DHA, BSN, RN, CENP Justin Kelly MHI, BSN, RN, CCRN, RHIA Melissa Kline Brittany Unthank
