Today The Arc SF is celebrating the 13th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)! The purpose of GAAD is to get everyone talking, thinking, and learning about digital access and inclusion, and the more than One Billion people with disabilities/impairments. Digital accessibility refers to the ability of people with disabilities/impairments to independently consume and/or interact with digital (e.g., web, mobile) applications and content. GAAD's mission is to disrupt the culture of technology and digital product development to include accessibility as a core requirement. So to all the disruptors out there - consider the more than One Billion disabled individuals out there next time you are creating content, challenge yourself to be more inclusive!
