When Simon first started at The Arc SF, he was very shy and would run away from staff. Over time, with dedicated effort, he became more at ease and comfortable with the group. Now, he’s making connections and engaging with others. Support personal growth like Simon’s at The Arc SF. Today The Arc SF is celebrating the 13th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)! The purpose of GAAD is to get everyone talking, thinking, and learning about digital access and inclusion, and the more than One Billion people with disabilities/impairments. Digital accessibility refers to the ability of people with disabilities/impairments to independently consume and/or interact with digital (e.g., web, mobile) applications and content. GAAD's mission is to disrupt the culture of technology and digital product development to include accessibility as a core requirement. So to all the disruptors out there - consider the more than One Billion disabled individuals out there next time you are creating content, challenge yourself to be more inclusive! The link below has tips from the GAAD Foundation on ways you can participate in a more inclusive online future. https://lnkd.in/gTy8w_rS #TheArcSanFrancisco #TheArcSF #SanFrancisco #IDD #Disability #InclusionMatters #Accessibility #DisabilityAwareness #GlobalAccessibilityAwarenessDay #GAAD Image Description: the GAAD logo in navy blue with graphics of hands signing, a person walking with a cane, an ear with "vibrations", a person in a wheelchair, and The Arc SF logo.
