Before the Ice Bucket Challenge, government funding and support for ALS research and care were not given the same priority as others in the disease space such as cancer or heart disease. When it comes to creating a world without ALS, we are all on the same team. We were excited to join I AM ALS and their CEO Andrea Goodman at the Washington Nationals Lou Gehrig Day game!
Paul was 23 when his father, Wally, passed away from ALS in 2013. 10 years later Paul set out to walk 32 miles from his home in Bellingham, Massachusetts, to Fenway Park to attend the Boston Red Sox game on Lou Gehrig Day to raise ALS awareness in conjunction with the “Wally” Seaver High School basketball Invitational. He completed the walk in approximately 7 hours and 32 minutes. This year, Paul did it all again on Sunday, June 2nd – prior to the Boston Red Sox Lou Gehrig Day game.
