About us

Founded in 1887, Teichert’s two main operating companies are Teichert Construction and Teichert Materials. Teichert Construction holds California State Contractor’s License #8, the oldest active license in California. Teichert Construction is a general contractor that builds the infrastructure people use each day, including hundreds of thousands of mile of roads and freeways, commercial and industrial sitework, parks, airports, and more. One advantage that Teichert Construction brings our customers is a full line of construction services. These include mass grading, asphalt paving, concrete paving, curbs and sidewalks and underground pipelines. We stay on the cutting edge, from training our employees to outfitting our construction equipment with the latest technology for greater job efficiency. Teichert Materials is one of the largest construction materials producers in the county. This includes; Teichert Aggregates, a rock, sand, gravel and asphaltic concrete producer. Teichert Materials makes the materials to build homes, schools, offices, roads, levees and other community projects. Since our business is dependent on the use of natural resources, we work closely with neighbors, environmental experts and public officials to design, reclaim and replenish the environment in which we work. This is our 'net-gain' approach to doing business

Teichert Construction is proud to announce, in partnership with MCM Construction, Inc. the City of Fresno, Caltrans and NV5, that our Veterans Boulevard Interchange project was just awarded Project of the Year by the International Partnering Institute (IPI). This award is a testament to our commitment to collaboration, teamwork, and excellence in the heavy civil construction industry. We are incredibly grateful to all of the stakeholders involved for their dedication to partnering, which resulted in another successful, high-quality project. The Veterans Boulevard Interchange Project is a new high-profile interchange connecting the heavily traveled California State Route 99 Freeway with the Local Street network in northwest Fresno. This project provided the final piece to connect communities on both side of SR-99 and ultimately increase the quality of life for residents of Fresno. The work consisted of constructing a six-lane super-arterial roadway, a freeway interchange at SR99 (State Route 99), connecting to a grade separation over the Union Pacific Railroad and High-Speed Rail, six new on and off-ramps, four bridges, local road improvements, six new signalized intersections and a new pedestrian trail network.

Last night, PRIDE Industries had the honor of receiving the 2024 Equity Award from the Greater Sacramento Economic Council (GSEC). “Together, GSEC and PRIDE Industries prove every day that you don’t have to choose between #businessexcellence and a positive social impact,” said Jeff Dern, President and CEO of PRIDE Industries. The award—which was presented to Jeff by Judson Riggs, the Chairman, CEO, and President of Teichert—is a recognition of innovations like our I AM ABLE Helpline and our annual I AM ABLE Disability Job Fair, which have connected thousands of #peoplewithdisabilities with employment resources. #ThinkInclusion Three images: A large video screen displaying the GSEC logo and the words "Equity Award Winner, PRIDE Industries"; Jeff Dern and Judson Riggs standing together; the Equity Award.

As Construction Safety Week comes to an end, it is important for all of us to reflect on the value of a safety focus within all industries each day and in each moment. We see every week as Safety Week at Teichert and realize the importance of sharing the care and concern we have not only with our employee base, but with the industry. What happens to one of us, happens to all of us. We work with tools, pick up objects, work around heavy equipment and moving parts, control exposures in all weather conditions, diligently set up appropriate traffic control devices to work within the public right of way, enter confined spaces, crush rock, dig trenches, finish concrete, rake and shovel hot asphalt, locate existing underground utilities, drive distances, identify overhead hazards, and daily change the landscape horizon with scrapers. We are surrounded by hazards we can control, and we expect our employees to care enough to recognize a hazard and to have courage enough to take positive preventative actions. Our focus this week was on Mental Health Awareness, Heat Illness Prevention, Traffic Control, and Flagger operations. Each of these topics requires a genuine care for our co-workers as well as our sub-contractors and should be given the utmost attention and respect in identifying hazards and reducing risks. #SendEveryoneHomeSafelyEveryDay #BuildingTrustTradition #Teichert

Teichert was proud to serve as judges at this year's CIEF Design Build Competition at Cosumnes River College. This competition is a four-month program where students from local high schools are challenged to design and build a 96 sq ft structure and are then judged on their design, construction, code compliance, and safety. At the end of the competition, these structures are donated to local nonprofits or sold to provide funds for various causes in local communities. #BuildingTrustTradition #Teichert
