What is Flag Day? #FlagDay commemorates June 14, 1777, when the Continental Congress determined the composition of the nation's banner: "Resolved, That the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.” President Woodrow Wilson issued a 1916 proclamation of June 14 as Flag Day and in 1949, President Harry S. Truman signed the formal observance into law.

💪#NAWCAD remembers D-Day with real-life Rosie Riveter | World War II riveter Betty Jean Holly revisited this B-25 bomber dubbed Panchito on the flight line at NAWCAD's #USNavalTestPilotSchool this week. 🇺🇸 Holly, who celebrates her 99th birthday this weekend after today's 80th D-Day anniversary, drilled holes and installed rivets onboard the warplanes in 1943 when many of the young men from her town were being drafted. 🛩️During the visit, Holly fondly recalled the fun but physically tough job that gave her both independence (at a whopping $.49 an hour!) and an opportunity to contribute to war efforts. 🎉Wish Betty the best of birthdays in the comments below and give this special feature a read, it's too good to miss! https://lnkd.in/eSaNSDdt
