    When brands achieve accelerated growth, legacy tools and systems are often unable to sufficiently keep up with these new stressors. Brave Books, a children's book publishing company, experienced this first hand - managing its inventory and #fulfillment center with Google Spreadsheets. This means the Brave Books team was at risk of overselling kits or individual SKUs because its system lacked visibility into the available inventory. And this required the team to do labor-intensive hand counts of available stock on a near daily basis.     DO YOU MEASURE YOUR DWELL TIME? Dwell time refers to the gap between a #3PL or #fulfillment provider’s marking an order as “shipped,” and the moment a shipping carrier actually scans the package into its system and truly begins to move the package. For most brands they’ve accepted the “status quo” - that exceptions to expected dwell time is a problem that can’t be fixed (and so don’t even track it!) and is an unfortunate byproduct of the fulfillment handoff process between fulfillment center and carriers. That’s a big problem - as it can reach almost a third of a brand’s packages, causing excessive delays and harming customer experience. But more importantly, it is evidence that the thinking and approach we are taking at Stord is truly disruptive. I had my first Stord OMS demo this week, and I was AMAZED by the features and the thought that went into the "if this, then that" rules, rules by channel and the reporting functionality that I saw. It's truly remarkable, and to me, head and shoulders above other 3PLs that have built their own OMS. With more able clients, you can really cut down on some of the customer service hours required. Also, I wanted to share that Brad has been incredible on calls, he's a true pro. You definitely have struck gold there. I also had the pleasure of meeting Josh this week - also, really incredible. That was honestly probably the best demo I have had in my 15 years in logistics... and honestly, most people I chat with really dislike client portal demos. Anyway, long essay aside. I wanted to share some feedback, because I, like others, have been really quick to group many tech-based 3PLs into the same bucket which is pretty foolish. I see what you guys are building and it is fantastic. Like ShipHero with a makeover and HGH. Selling your WMS and then upselling the OMS is such an intelligent model.
