As battery energy storage becomes increasingly economic throughout the United States, Spearmint Energy’s founder, president, and CEO Andrew Waranch joined Institutional Real Estate, Inc.’s Kali Persall for a wide-ranging conversation on the factors driving a dramatic increase in tax equity interest from corporates, views on the 2024 BESS development landscape nationally amidst an election year, and how tax credits made available through the IRA are becoming a viable option for a growing body of storage developers.   “There is still an education process in play, but in the limited amount of time since the IRA has gotten going, the speed of demand growth has led to what I believe is a shortage of projects, not a shortage of investors.
