Thousands of Hoosiers in need of assisted living are being forced to wait for access to the Aged & Disabled Waiver. Without these funds, most will find it extremely difficult to get the care they need. 💔 While this is, indeed, greatly impacting our industry, it's also sadly impacting the lives of many in need of assisted care and their caretakers. Today, Culinary Directors, Environmental Services Managers, and leaders from across our communities and Central team gathered today to collaborate and learn together. Guest speakers from community vendors and members of the Silver Birch Living team covered a range of topics from proper use of chemicals to sustainable microgreens. We are always excited to bring our fantastic community teams together to collaborate help drive the business forward. Continued education and innovation as an organization is key in our mission to inspire purposeful lives for all.

Yesterday, several of our leaders had the opportunity to attend the annual Quality Cabinet committee meetings and strategic planning session held by AHCA/NCAL in San Antonio. Around 200 healthcare leaders from across the nation came together to collaborate on industry challenges and strategize ways to improve quality and service delivery across the assisted living and long-term care industry. Our Silver Birch leaders, who serve on several AHCA/NCAL committees, enjoyed the opportunity to meet with other like-minded experts to focus on enhancing quality care for residents and supporting our workforce We are excited to continue to work with our peers to foster innovation and quality across the industry. Looking forward to Day 2! Silver Birch has been pleased by the addition of new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Matthew South! 🎉 Matthew S. joined Silver Birch Living in February of 2024 as CFO, bringing 20 years of experience in corporate finance, business development and investment banking. Most recently, he was the head of financial planning at Care Hospice, a privately held company providing hospice care services across 20 states. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. "I’ve worked in the healthcare industry my whole career, and I find that the ability to make a difference in the lives of those we serve is consistently rewarding. Silver Birch has an inspiring mission and the company’s core values of Own it, Respect it, Improve it, Celebrate it and Live it are consistent with my own," shared Matthew. 💙 Matthew is a Chicago resident and enjoys distance running, playing tennis, and spending time with his family, which often includes trips to sporting events and exploring the city.
