Sequoia helps daring founders build legendary companies from idea to IPO and beyond. We aim to be the first true believers in tomorrow’s most valuable and enduring businesses. We partner with a few outliers each year and go all-in, providing them with the hands-on help required at every stage of the company building journey. Our expertise comes from 50 years of working with legendary founders like Steve Jobs, Larry Page, Jan Koum, Adi Tatarko, Brian Chesky, Jensen Huang, Anne Wojcicki, Eric Yuan, Patrick Collison, Julia Hartz, and Sebastian Siemiatkowski. In aggregate, Sequoia-backed companies account for more than 25% of NASDAQ's total value. Since our inception, the vast majority of the money we invest has been on behalf of nonprofits and schools like the Ford Foundation, Mayo Clinic and MIT, which means most of the returns we generate benefit these great causes.

I read a quote from James Clear last week that stuck with me: "It's never the right time, but right now is usually the best time." This month’s Ask Zoe reader queries when is the right time to start a company. While many should not pursue entrepreneurship, for the talented ambitious individuals that should, my tl;dr advice is to not delay in taking the leap. Click through to read the three components I suggest paying particular attention to. My colleagues and I at Sequoia Capital love to engage with aspiring founders and help advance their initial ideas. This weekend we hosted some of the Sequoia founder community for our annual Base Camp retreat. We heard from NVIDIA's Jensen Huang, Brian Halligan of HubSpot, Instacart CEO Fidji Simo, and MongoDB CEO Dev Ittycheria about their leadership styles and how they think about building in the AI era. While there was a wide range of approaches, a common theme emerged: great companies don’t just grow linearly—they make leaps along their journey. It’s an incredible time to be building a company. Thanks to everyone who attended.
“Experts would write software, turn it into prose for academia, and then engineers like Andreas Jansson would turn it back into software to use it,” Ben Firshman says. “The process was bananas.” Here’s the story of Replicate, which lets developers run open-source models in the cloud with a single line of code. https://lnkd.in/dj9vQaPm
Congratulations to all of the incredible companies we’ve partnered with represented in this year’s CNBC #Disruptor50 list.

Wiz is a company that continues to make waves! A huge financing round at a high valuation is a milestone to celebrate. But what doesn't make the headlines is the daily grind of sweating the product detail, and doing right by customers. That's where the success is forged, and that's what Wiz excels at. We at Sequoia Capital can't be more proud of Assaf Rappaport, Ami Luttwak, Yinon C., Roy Reznik and the rest of the wizards. #CSPM #CNAPP #cloudSecurity
Product-market fit is a critical goal for every startup. We think the best way is to start is by focusing on how the customer relates to the problem your product solves. 🎯 👇 https://lnkd.in/gKed2t6M

Some of you know that #observability is an old passion of mine [https://lnkd.in/gD9abpjT], and I am really excited to be working with Samuel Colvin and the rest of the Pydantic team. Samuel has earned his stripes with the Pydantic open-source data validation library which is a beloved product, and he is applying the same knack for #DX and design to observability. Logfire is the easiest way to add monitoring to a #python app. And if you are already using Pydantic, it's a no-brainer!
We're live! Pydantic Logfire is in open beta. Since I started writing Python in 2010, I've wanted a better way to do logging. Off the back of Pydantic's unbelievable growth, last year I started a company backed by Sequoia Capital, and lucky enough to hire the brightest people I know. Now we've gone and built the logging thing I always wanted. https://lnkd.in/ek4_DkHm
