At Santander, we believe that small businesses truly are the backbone of our country. This is why we were thrilled to contribute $100,000 to the Small Business Development Center at Florida International University during the recent opening of our new Work Café in Coconut Grove, Miami. Our charitable donation reflects our ongoing support for the Santander US Cultivate Small Business program and commitment to fostering the growth of communities and small businesses across South Florida.

During Military Appreciation Month, Santander colleagues across the US engaged in meaningful acts to honor our veterans. From military museum clean-up to home building for veterans in need, we’ve worked to ensure our heroes’ sacrifices are never forgotten. We also planted flags and displayed Missing Man Table exhibits, allowing us to pay homage to those who’ve fallen. Our commitment to honoring our veterans extended beyond these initial gestures through ship tours and a panel discussion featuring Medal of Honor recipient Colonel Jack Jacobs, providing us with invaluable insights into the lives of those who served. As we move forward, let’s continue to show our gratitude, offer support, and keep the stories of our veterans alive. They served for us; let’s continue to serve them in memory and action.

We believe that pronouncing names correctly is a vital part of identity, inclusivity, and empowerment. An inclusive workplace values every person, every name, and every story. That’s why we are encouraging all colleagues to support this campaign by including a name recording or adding the phonetic spelling of your name to your email signature. Whether you’re a Santander colleague or not, we encourage you to take part by updating your LinkedIn profile.
