Ritual's 2023 Impact Report is here. 2023 brought many firsts—like having our whole line certified by the Clean Label Project & being the first company in our category to publicly share the carbon footprint for all our products—and it was also filled with an enormous amount of not-so-sexy work behind the scenes to uphold our commitments. IYKYK. Here are some highlights: 🔍 Traceability If an ingredient is on the label, we share the details about who the suppliers are and where it’s manufactured. We upheld our commitment to have 100% of our ingredients Made Traceable®. 🌱 Sustainability Our journey to build a credible climate plan took a big step forward with more refined carbon accounting and conducting detailed LCAs for each product, which allows us to use real data to craft a strategic decarbonization plan. We're proud to report that we're 90% towards our goal of sustainable packaging by 2025 (defined as refillable, recycled content or recyclable). 🔬 Scientifically Proven Efficacy The completion of another clinical study—for HyaCera our skin health product —underscores our commitment to evidence-based supplements. Marking the second clinical completed on our road to 100% by 2030. As we reflect on these achievements (and challenges) of pioneering change in the supplement industry, we take your trust seriously. “Finally, a prenatal that doesn’t smell disgusting!” was a top comment we heard at American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)'s Annual Clinical & Scientific Meeting this past weekend. (Thank you to our citrus-essenced tab!) It was truly inspiring to connect with so many dedicated OBGYNs and healthcare practitioners who share our passion for improving maternal health. The dialogue around folate versus folic acid was particularly lively. While the CDC advocates for folic acid, Ritual staunchly stands by folate, the active form of folic acid. Research indicates that up to 40% of women possess a genetic polymorphism (in the MTHFR gene) that impedes folic acid processing. Ritual’s active form MTHF (6S-5-tetramethylhydrofolate) is one the body can utilize more efficiently. The questions we received were fantastic—keep them coming!
