NIST announced a new testing and validation program to assess AI societal impacts this week. The Assessing Risks and Impacts of AI (ARIA) program expands on the AI Risk Management Framework released in January 2023 and will help organizations identify whether an AI system will be valid, reliable, safe, secure, private, and fair once deployed.ARIA will assess models and systems submitted by developers around the world using three evaluation levels: model testing, red-teaming, and field testing. ARIA 0.1, the first pilot, will focus on LLMs with future phases reviewing text-to-image models, or other forms of AI such as recommender systems or decision support tools.Relyance builds regulatory compliance into our modules to help you identify risks across your AI systems. 🔐 The European Council approved the EU AI Act today but is not enforceable yet. The legislative act will be signed by the presidents of the European Parliament and of the Council before being published in the EU's Official Journal. The law will come into force 20 days after publication with various elements becoming enforceable within the next 2 years. In 6 months, countries will be required to ban prohibited AI systems.
