Helping people with rare genetic diseases get answers.

About us

Probably Genetic helps undiagnosed rare disease patients find answers to their symptoms in a matter of weeks. There are over 400 million people worldwide that have a rare disease — more than cancer and HIV patients combined. Half of those patients are currently undiagnosed and half of them are children, and it takes 5-7 years on average for these patients to get a diagnosis. With our system, patients can get answers in a matter of weeks. Our online Symptom Checker identifies rare disease patients using state-of-the-art machine learning models, gets them tested through our direct-to-consumer genetic testing service, and helps connect these patients to potentially life-saving treatments and advocacy communities. We partner with drug developers to offer sponsored testing programs that allow patients to access genetic testing for little to no cost.

Score the winning goal 🥅 and help accelerate answers for patients as our next Business Development Lead in Boston! We’re a lean team today at Probably Genetic, but watch out, because we are ready for the big leagues. 📈 Like that time a few weeks ago when we all got to take the ice after the Habs won a zinger of a game during our recent company offsite in Canada. (We apparently bring good luck!) 🏆 So if you have proven experience selling into Biopharma enterprise through various channels or verticals and happen to be in the greater #Boston area, show our posting below some love. Disclaimer: knowledge of ice hockey is not required, and, I can attest, can be taught on the job. 🏒 In addition to an inspiring mission, a product you can actually believe in and memorable team retreats…you’d get to work with a collaborative, dynamic team of strategists and value creators, all deeply motivated by our vision. Including Andrew Longenecker one the most approachable, bright and just down right kind leaders around. Don’t wait too long. Reach out and apply directly via the link in the comments.🤩 #businessdevelopment #healthtech #biotech #wehustle #wecreatemagic #thatPGlife Special s/o to Kathryn Clark our Workplace Manager who delivered this unforgettable moment last month. 💫

As we’ve learned on previous episodes of Raise the Line, people dealing with rare diseases usually wait 4-7 years before receiving a diagnosis, during which time their condition can deteriorate significantly. Shortening this “diagnostic odyssey” is the mission of today’s guest, Lukas Lange, and in an interesting twist, he’s doing it by involving the patients themselves.  The company he co-founded, Probably Genetic, has developed a system that starts with rare disease patients, or the parents of children with rare conditions, describing the symptoms involved on a website. “We run algorithms on that data in real time as you're on the website and if the algorithms think that this person might have a specific genetic disease, then we have a whole telemedicine system built in the background where we process that information and you get your test kit within about 48 hours of being on the website,” he explains to host Hillary Acer. Once the at-home test results are processed, a genetic counseling session is conducted via telemedicine. Tune in to find out why Lange believes having this knowledge is powerful for patients even if there may be no treatment available yet for their condition, and how it may be useful down the road with clinical trial recruitment, real world evidence tracking, and even early stage R&D for treatments.   Mentioned in this episode: https://lnkd.in/gGnk4VJf   Listen to today’s episode of Raise the Line: https://lnkd.in/gZfCj6Ea #raisetheline
