✨Highlights from Day 3 of the #PointsofLight24 Conference! Yesterday was packed with enlightening sessions and dynamic discussions that left us all inspired and ready to take action. One of the standout sessions was the Civic Talk: AI For Good: Advancing Civic Engagement. Attendees gained practical insights on leveraging AI to boost their organizations' impact, with valuable perspectives from Devi Thomas, global head of nonprofit community capacity, Microsoft Philanthropies and Kyle Zimmer, president, CEO and co-founder, First Book. Sponsored by KPMG US and moderated by Anita Whitehead, president and chair, KPMG Foundation. The Civic Talk: Keys to Building Bridges: Belonging, Volunteerism, and Civic Engagement discussion explored how belonging and faith intersect to build bridges, foster understanding, and promote meaningful civic engagement. The panel featured insights from Ben McBride, co-founder of Empower Initiative; Jenan Mohajir, vice president of external affairs, Interfaith America , Catherine Tong Dannaoui, executive director, HandsOn Hong Kong and Diane Quest, chief operating officer of Points of Light, who served as the moderator. In addition to these thought-provoking talks, we had a variety of engaging workshops, networking opportunities and more.

Day 2️⃣ of the #PointsofLight24 Conference began with the Opening Plenary featuring inspiring keynotes from Jennifer Sirangelo, Points of Light president & CEO and Eric Liu, president & co-founder of Citizen University. We were also enlightened by the National Service Panel discussion with Michael Smith, CEO of AmeriCorps, and Carol Spahn, director, Peace Corps, moderated by Rene Jones, chief of social impact, UTA Foundation. We enjoyed a fireside chat with Nicole “Nikki” Clifton, President of the UPS Foundation, and Brenda Robinson, Points of Light Board Member, which offered deep insights into the power of service and philanthropy. Sponsored by Delta Air Lines, The Civic Talk "Unlocking Potential: Education, Equity, and Service" featured an incredible panel of experts, including Mioshi Moses, JD, vice president, AARP Foundation Volunteer Programs; Sonali Nijhawan, director, AmeriCorps State and National; Tricia Rumola, general manager community engagement, Delta Air Lines and Dr. Ruth Simmons, distinguished presidential fellow, Rice University, diving into these crucial topics. We also had numerous workshops, networking opportunities, entertainment, #DailyPointofLight Award presentation, a Food Truck Festival and so much more. Today at the #PointsofLight24 Conference, leaders from national nonprofits gathered for an exclusive, invitation-only discussion on the decline in volunteering in the United States. With formal volunteering at a 30-year low of 23 percent, over 20 national organizations came together to tackle this urgent issue. Co-hosted by Points of Light, More Perfect, George & Barbara Bush Foundation, Starbucks and UPS this meeting was a crucial step towards revitalizing volunteerism and strengthening our communities.
