We completed the first of two monolithic pours for the new San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Muni 30 Line terminal bus pad adjacent to Chrissy Field. Executed by trade partners BCI (Berkeley Cement, Inc.), Berkeley Concrete Pumping Inc, and Construction Testing Services, the crews will continue to form the remaining sections, with the final pour set for next week. The work keeps Plant's team on schedule for a mid-August turnover of the Muni Post project for the Presidio Trust. #concrete #construction #presidio

This week, our trade partner California Erectors Bay Area mobilized to erect three 80-foot steel trusses from Gayle Manufacturing Company, Inc. for the University of California, Berkeley Academic Seismic Replacement Building's future auditorium. This was the first step in the steel erection process, which will progress with the installation of steel BRBFs acting as a lateral bracing system. With steel erection underway, the door is open for our first delivery of mass timber scheduled for late May. More to come soon! #construction #steel #masstimber

In honor of the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Historic Preservation Month, we take a look back at some of the iconic 19th- and 20th-century landmarks Plant has restored in the past two decades. We feel strongly that it is our responsibility as builders and residents to conserve California's rich history! So much of our ability to give new life to these significant buildings can be attributed to design partners like Architectural Resources Group, BAR Architects & Interiors, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Gensler, Hornberger + Worstell, Indidesign, Jensen Architects, Mark Cavagnero Associates, The Office of Charles F. Bloszies, FAIA, Page & Turnbull, Perkins&Will, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), Studio O+A, TEF Design, WRNS Studio, owners such as Boston Properties (BXP), Brookfield Properties, University of California, Berkeley, Forest City Realty Trust, Presidio Trust, Stanford University, TMG Partners, Wilson Meany, engineering firms including AECOM, BKF Engineers, Degenkolb Engineers, FORELL ELSESSER, Holmes US, Marx|Okubo Associates, Inc., Nabih Youssef & Associates, Tipping, and all of our many trade partners. #thisplacematters #savingplaces #historic #preservation #renovation #construction

We are happy to announce Plant has been awarded three affordable housing contracts! Plant is returning to Casa Esperanza (formerly Eula Hotel) in the City and County of San Francisco's Mission District to complete Phase 2. The scope of work includes the build out of support spaces with new office space and exterior enhancements. The work for Phase 2 of Casa Colibri (formerly Mission Inn) includes a seismic retrofit, conversion of new ADA units, renovations, and additions including office and support spaces, electrification of the existing gas hot water systems, and installation of new fire sprinkler systems. Both projects, which are being completed for Dolores Street Community Services in partnership with San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing and designed by Saida + Sullivan Design Partners, are beginning this month and are set for completion later this year. Plant will also begin a major exterior rehabilitation at the Dunleavy Plaza Apartments in the Mission District as part of the preservation of affordable housing, set for completion for Mission Housing Development Corporation later this year. Congratulations to Vice President/Construction Manager Phillip Aguilar and Senior Project Manager Beau Kent on their continued success helping provide affordable housing to serve the communities in which our employees live and work! #construction #affordablehousing

The restored stained-glass windows at St. Ignatius Parish are currently being installed by our partners at Daprato Rigali Inc. The refurbishment of these 110-year-old beauties will both allow more light in from the clerestories, further illuminating the decorative Italian Renaissance and Baroque elements of the church, and enable congregants to more clearly observe the narrative of the saints depicted on them. #stainedglass #windows #construction
