“It’s fascinating to see how pop culture influences our interiors, shaping spaces that resonate with the zeitgeist and reflect the evolving tastes of society.” - Senior Associate, Maryam Afify, RID Maryam recently guided our team through pop culture's influence on design, featuring none other than the iconic Houston native Beyoncé. Her bold and versatile approach to her artistry mirrors the changing world of design through three distinct palettes. Lemonade - Empowering femininity with soft curves, heavy textures, and striking contrasts. Overall, this palette gives an executive C-suite feel. Renaissance - Celebrating individuality with geometric patterns, shiny chrome, and playful light reflections. Dichroic film and 3 Form resin panels interact with lighting much like a disco. This palette creates a vibrant atmosphere while breaking away from traditional style choices. Cowboy Carter - A modern twist on rustic Texas roots with contemporary materials and bold colors. The chandelier is inspired by antlers but made of white ceramic, and the fabrics are in blues, reds, and whites as an ode to the American flag. • What is the biggest benefit of AI? This week, we learned to leverage it as our superpower. President + CEO Lauri Goodman Lampson attended the Fast Company Impact Council meeting to discover new ways AI can boost productivity and accelerate innovation for our clients. Here are some key takeaways: - Even with all the data in the world, AI requires a human idea to tell it what to do. - AI is jet fuel to your creativity, not a replacement for it - The real value of AI is in its relevant curation toward specific outcomes - AI is a journey, and we are still at the beginning of it (even though it's been around for decades) As AI opens more avenues for effective information curation and management, it's our job as designers to use it to think bigger about everything that matters most to your organization — people, business, ideas, and decisions. We look forward to expanding our AI knowledge and application to evolve how people engage and experience your space. Check out how we've helped organizations reach their own technology goals. https://lnkd.in/eGsjSG8a Special thanks to Fast Company for the insights Pictured speaker: Fast Company Editor Brendan Vaughan #FastCompany #AIandinnovation #ArchitectureandDesign

Finding the equilibrium between comfort and productivity in the workspace was crucial for Red Fan Communications. While their "home" office exuded warmth and charm, noise levels, capacity limitations, and thin walls posed significant hurdles. Our design solution strategically divided the office into zones, creating serene spaces for focused work while preserving collaborative areas. • By carefully balancing collaborative areas with quieter zones, our client's workspace effectively addresses the common sound problems associated with open office layouts. Now, their team can focus on bringing innovative ideas to life instead of worrying about noisy neighbors. This appealing workspace has become a preferred choice for employees, who now opt to come into the office on flexible workdays instead of working remotely. What's your type? As if her recognition as an Interior Design Magazine 30 Under 30 Houston Designer wasn't impressive enough, Hannah Lansford recently spoke to our team about the importance of type. "Type is all around and impacts us every day whether in print or digital – it is also how we communicate so I find it important to seek inspiration from it. Fonts and typefaces can be adjusted to conform to an occasion, location, or time. Selections can also impact accessibility to spaces and designed elements. Typographers exemplify the progression of modern typography and its relation to the design world."
