Our Chief People Officer Kathleen Pacini, PHR dropping solid career FACTS on Ted Blosser's WorkRamp episode: "Be curious and open about things that are not in your job description." Recently I had the chance to reconnect with a fellow Bronco - Ted Blosser. Ted and I were friends at Santa Clara University, and now we’ve both made careers in the People space. Ted is the CEO at WorkRamp, and was gracious enough to invite me on his podcast to talk about Patreon, my career journey and some lessons learned. I had a great time chatting with Ted about all things people and learning - check it out! https://lnkd.in/gsUt8nZw

We love the magic our social expert Sydney creates as she tells creator and fan stories!
The way I get to tell the stories of creative people AND get paid for it... 💅🏻 At this year’s SXSW, we invited iconic podcasters and their fans to join us for a special live podcast taping event. The team on the ground saw firsthand how excited the fans were; we’re talking lines around the block! The Basement Yard, RedHanded, Freddie Wong, and Sibling Rivalry have all kindled incredible, very real creator to fan connections so we thought: how could we not amplify these stories? But, true to Patreon, we wanted to do this a little differently. We reached out to Kyle McCarthy, a mixed media filmmaker (@kylemakesshortfilms on IG) whose style we instantly loved. We asked him to bring the story of these creators to life in a way that felt authentic to each of them. The results have been amazing, gaining hundreds of thousands of views, with some of the most heartwarming comments you’ve ever seen. This is what resonance looks like, and we’re excited to tell more stories of creativity powered by real fans – we’re just getting started! ✨ The Basement Yard - https://lnkd.in/eEDRhAui RedHanded - https://lnkd.in/eGhP9bGM Freddie Wong - https://lnkd.in/ePvMBgXb Sibling Rivalry - https://lnkd.in/ebg-MkVg
The Basement Yard Podcast on Instagram: "It’s still crazy to us that we actually get to do this for a living. 📹: made by @kylemakesshortfilms & our friends at @patreon"

Truly grateful that 11 years ago Jack Conte and Sam Yam did NOT go with "Cow Plum."

"And creators deserve that stability. You deserve to own your relationship with your audience in a way that isn’t beholden to any one platform. You deserve to be able to make what excites you, without having to worry about feeding an unpredictable, ever-changing algorithm. You deserve a space where you can reach all of your fans with what you create. And you deserve a place to build a real, lasting, energized fan community – and business – around you and your work. At Patreon, we continue to pour our hearts and souls into providing creators with that level of ownership, stability, and control. Because TikTok or no TikTok, the creator economy is here to stay, and we won’t stop working toward a world where professional creativity, and true fandom, is possible for all."
TikTok Killed the Follower. Now Washington is Trying to Kill TikTok. This potential ban is part of a larger, alarming pattern of volatility in the creator economy. Here's what that means for creators.

Stephanie will apply her more than 10 years of partnerships experience from iHeartMedia, Spotify, and Dapper Labs to lead our product, creator channel, and loyalty partnerships. In her own words, "I've spent much of my career advocating for creators and building out the creator economy. Patreon is positioned to be the one-stop-shop for building a sustainable fan community. I'm excited to partner with platforms to bring new innovative tools and services to our creators and unlock new benefits for their fans." Welcome, Stephanie!

Today, community chats are expanding to help creators and fans form even stronger, safer, and more direct connections on Patreon. Creators can now access chats from web or mobile, and can also assign trusted fans or teammates as moderators. Coming soon, creators will be able to choose whether all members or paid members only can join a given chat, and will even be able to respond to fans in chat with personalized video stickers. The more that creators can energize their fandoms, the better set up they'll be for long term fulfillment and success. We're continuing to listen, learn, and build to make Patreon the best place for creators to bring the 🔥 to their fandoms.
