A three-tower lake crossing, located on a lake east of the Mississippi River, has been standing since its creation. It was closed to traffic and repurposed to generate power. When Osmose engineers did a preliminary assessment of the structures, it was clear that a collapse and line outage was a genuine possibility. A significant weather event could bring down one or all of the towers and transmission lines.
