Near West Side Partners, Inc. (NWSP) is a Milwaukee non-profit organization founded through the support of five anchor institutions: Advocate Aurora Health, Harley-Davidson, Marquette University, Molson Coors, and Potawatomi Business Development Corporation. NWSP’s Board of Directors and Working Teams comprise institutional stakeholders, civic leaders, and residents. Together, these groups work toward a collective goal to make the Near West Side a great place to live, work, play and stay by revitalizing and sustaining thriving business and residential corridors.

It is with great sadness that Near West Side Partners joins the Lovell family, Marquette University, and the broader community in mourning the passing of Dr. Michael Lovell. Dr. Lovell’s life was a testament to the power of selfless servant leadership. Pivotal to the founding of Near West Side Partners, Dr. Lovell recognized the power of partnership and convened like-minded individuals, organizations and businesses to establish a vision for our community guided by shared responsibility and collective action. Through his leadership, nearly a decade of collaboration and investment have helped revitalize Milwaukee’s Near West Side. Dr. Lovell’s unwavering dedication to service and his heartfelt commitment to the Milwaukee and Near West Side communities - including by ensuring legacy, anchor institutions like Marquette University leverage their resources, connections and power to advance catalytic, neighborhood-level change - stand as enduring examples for us all. Near West Side Partners extends its deepest condolences to Dr. Lovell’s family and to all who were touched by his remarkable leadership and generosity. His visionary spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.

NWSP was thrilled to see so many Near West Side projects recognized at the 2024 Mayor's Design Awards! These awards honor projects that add value to neighborhoods by restoring, constructing, or enhancing properties in ways that respect the urban fabric and contribute to the unique traits of their surroundings. Near West Side awardees included Denizen MKE, Buffalo Boss, Marquette University O'Brien Hall and Wgema Campus Plan & Historic Renovations Additionally, Quorum Architects played an important role in many projects as well, including the beautifully restored McKinley School Lofts. Congrats to all!
