The Normal Brand was started by brothers in their parents' basement because they wanted a better Normal shirt.     In 2017 when we had just started The Normal Brand, we were struggling with the basics - hiring, creating a culture, figuring out who does what. We literally knew nothing. Jim Kavanaugh took time out of his insanely busy schedule to meet with me for coffee. The reason he met with me is because his dad liked our dad Jim Sansone, Esq.. Mr. Kavanuagh has become a pheomenal friend and mentor, and recommended Patrick Lencioni books as a resource. Conrad, Lan Sansone, and I devoured them. They gave the most practical, step by step, common sense approach to building a team, and we have since made it mandatory for all of our people to read these books. It's made an incredible difference. Hearing this podcast today from Mr. Lencioni was such an awesome moment for all of us at TNB. We are proud of Colby Dee Coskery for doing the little things fantastically well, and it feels good for someone we respect so much to understand what we are trying to do at our company. I may have set a record for most tags in a LinkedIn post. This podcast is only 20 minutes'ish long and a great one. https://lnkd.in/gbcDvSar

    The Normal Brand posted this on Instagram today, and I thought it was appropriate for LinkedIn too. Though my LinkedIn game is a little weak, so I may be wrong. Below is what we wrote regarding 9/11: On 9/11, the world encountered pure evil. Every American should make it a priority to visit the 9/11 Memorial Museum. It should be mandatory for every high schooler to make the trip to New York. In the face of pure evil, Americans responded with countless acts of love. In the midst of evil, God was everywhere. May we never forget how it felt that day, and how the country came together afterwards. God bless the victims, their families, and those who selflessly ran in to burning buildings to save strangers. There are forces out there that try and divide us (the media, politicians, social networks, big corporations), but watching stories like the Man in the Red Bandana (https://lnkd.in/gvM_gJKt) will have you believing in humanity again. People are good.
