The Social Pivot Exhibit in Long Beach is almost here! Rhonda Love and MHALA partnered on this creative journey that explores the challenges of COVID-19, climate change, civic engagement, and social justice.  🎨 Creative Expression: A Path to Mental Well-Being and Resilience 🎨 Creative expression can enhance mental well-being and strengthen resilience. Whether through painting, cooking, sculpture, or dance, art can boost self-esteem, reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety, and increase mindfulness and connection to the world around you. For many of MHALA’s members, an artistic outlet allows them to express themselves in ways words cannot. A recent survey from the American Psychiatric Association found that people who rate their mental health as positive often engage in creative activities more regularly. Activities like playing an instrument, gardening, knitting, and visiting art museums can help improve your mental health. This Mental Health Awareness Month, MHALA highlights the connection between mental health and creative expression.
