Oli oikein virkistävä viikon loikka EU Horisontti maailman klustereiden välillä. Omat hankkeet kuten MELCHIOR Project ja STBERNARD PROJECT ovat turvallista 3-klusteria. Nyt sain mahdollisuuden kurkistaa myös toisenlaisiin hankkeisiin. 💡 Intensiivinen viikon projekti, jota kyllä pohjustettiin jo kevään mittaan, järjestettiin IdeaSquare - the innovation space at CERNissä. Opintomatka osaltani liittyi liittyi ATTRACT EU -hankkeeseen ja teknologioiden soveltamiseen #Agenda2030 #SDG3, eli tavoitteena oli terveelliseen elämään ja hyvinvointiin liittyvät kokonaisuudet. 🎗 Moniammatillinen ja -kansallinen ryhmämme valitsi ratkaisujen pohdinnan kohteeksi rintasyövän seulontaan liittyvät haasteet. Itselleni täysin vieras pelikenttä, kuten kyllä muillekin. ⭐ Viikon aikana sain käydä keskusteluja oman alansa maailman huippujen kanssa. Kuten University of Genevan inspiroiva ja energinen professori Bettina Borisch, joka on niin rintasyövän kuin globaalin terveystutkimuksenkin johtavia asiantuntijoita maailmassa. Samoin oli mieleenjäävä ja avartava University of Cape Townin emeritusprofessorin Kit Vaughanin kanssa käyty keskustelu olemassa olevista vaihtoehtoisista teknologioista ja kehitteillä olevien menetelmien potentiaaleista. Scope Impactin johtaja Mari Tikkanen avasi jopa koskettavalla tavalla näkymää terveydenhoidon eriarvoiseen globaalin todellisuuteen. 💫 Informaatiovyöry oli valtava ja uusien tasojen löytäminen erittäin antoisaa. Tästä pystyy ammentamaan vielä pitkään. Se mikä tässäkin kokemuksessa taas nousi keskiöön on rajojen ylittäminen. Niin organisaatio- kuin koulukuntarajatkin määrittävät ajattelua liian yleisesti. Hyvistä ratkaisuista syntyy parempia, kun pakkaa sekoitetaan ylittämällä ne oman ajattelun rajoitukset ja tehdään asioita uudella tavalla, uudessa porukassa. Toki oma ajattelukin pitää pitää kunniassaan, mutta aina voi kysyä kaverilta - vaikka juuri siltä, joka ei ole joka päivä siinä vieressä samalla tavalla ajattelemassa. Exciting announcement! A new synergy has been established with Meteor Rapid Cargo Screener, EU-Funded Project! 💡 METEOR aims to revolutionize cargo screening with innovative and efficient technology capable of delivering fast, reliable, and economical container inspections, to provide customs authorities with an effective screening solution to detect various threats and combat illicit goods trafficking, particularly illicit drugs. ℹ #METEOR utilizes vapour-based technology, achieved by collecting a sample of air representative of the container's interior and subsequently analyzing its chemical content. It is non-destructive, can be designed to be minimally intrusive and safer for the screener, and has the potential for complete automation, eliminating the need for human interpretation. As part of the EU-funded MELCHIOR Project, Microflown Technologies is advancing novel technologies for the rapid detection of drugs, explosives, weapons, and illicit goods concealed on individuals through non-contact measurements, including acoustic tests. A key step in its progress is understanding acoustic scattering by the human body. The video below showcases the sound intensity field at 100 Hz around a colleague's torso captured using Scan&Paint 3D, providing crucial data to refine complex numerical simulation models. #MELCHIOR #ParticleVelocity #Security

The "Explosives Detection Joint Workshop" which was organised by ODYSSEUS Project, MELCHIOR Project and INHERIT H2020 Project, took place both physically and virtually on the 12th of April, 2024 at the Forensic Science Division Headquarters of the Hellenic Police. Attendees enjoyed fruitful and descriptive presentations of the three projects, including the project overviews, their general objectives, as well as technical presentations on interesting aspects of detection technologies.
