McDonald York sponsored the recent Sip-n-Stroll event organized by Highwoods Properties for ULI Triangle. Members had a great time enjoying the lovely weather, sipping cocktails, and strolling through downtown Raleigh. They visited three different Highwoods properties, including our project at 150 Fayetteville, which is set to become Birdie's Barroom and Kitchen, complete with a spacious outdoor patio. Highwoods and LM Restaurants filled the group in on the plans and the progress. Thanks to Clara Rienhoff for organizing this unique event! Let's do it again, soon!! #constructionmanagement #networkingevent #constructionprojects

About us
At McDonald York Building Company, we are passionate about collaboration and innovation and are dedicated to fostering long-term relationships with clients, colleagues, staff and community members. Having celebrated our 100 year anniversary in 2010, we feel that our commitment to the principles of integrity, honesty, safety and quality have helped to lay a strong foundation for a bright future. As an innovative full-service construction company working throughout the Triangle area of North Carolina, we "partner" with clients to provide technical expertise to deliver solutions within the Life Sciences, Corporate, Healthcare and Office markets. Our unique structure allows us to effectively handle a wide range of projects from small facility improvements to large capital projects. Because we recognize that every client and every project are unique, we developed a delivery approach called MYWay®. It is a special McDonald York-only construction delivery approach that joins three critical principles to bring optimal construction solutions to our clients: Trust-Based Teams, Early Collaboration and Sustainability. These three principles are implemented using the three tools of MYWay®: the advanced production management process of Lean Construction, the technology of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and a team structure of Integrated Product Delivery.

Thank You for Using Your Voice! It's the last day of our recognition of National Construction Safety Week. We all have something to contribute when it comes to safety, and it’s important to demonstrate that every voice matters when forming a safety plan. Thank you for your participation in Construction Safety Week 2024! We know it’s a collaborative effort, and one that we all must participate in. Thanks to Christopher B. McGee CSP, CHST our Director of EHS for his ongoing efforts to make every job we do SAFE!

Today's Safety Week topic is Embracing Every Voice Embracing every voice creates an environment where every team member feels valued and heard. When people feel their voice is heard, employee morale and engagement improve, teams are more productive, and a variety of perspectives are brought into the conversation. #constructionsafetyweek2024 #nationalconstructionsafetyweek #constructionmanagement

It's Day 2 of Safety Week! Our Tool Box Talk today is "Encourage and Welcome New Ideas". We'll discuss how valuing every voice makes sure all team members have a chance to add ideas and are not restricted to the perceived best practice of the loudest voice on the crew. Instead, they are empowered to ask questions, challenge norms, share different ideas for improvement and solve problems in a collaborative and more effective manner. The dialogue created through everyone’s contribution to the discussion brings forward all the expertise on the crew and leads to better hazard identification, and safety improvements in the work process. #constructionsafetyweek2024 #nationalconstructionsafetyweek #constructionmanagement

Welcome to the start of Construction Safety Week! It was started in 2014 and in 2016, Safety Week was more formally branded and started to take shape as the fully integrated annual campaign with a growing number of members and sponsors that exists today. While the event is only a week; it has a significant and positive impact on the lives and livelihoods of construction workers that lasts long after NCSW. Today’s safety topic talk is about Driving Personal Ownership. When it comes to safety, whether it be an unsafe condition or behavior, if you see it, you own it, if you walk by it, you condone it. #constructionsafetyweek2024 #nationalconstructionsafetyweek #constructionmanagement

National Construction Safety Week is coming up and one of the many certifications needed in the construction industry includes First Aid/CPR Training and AED. Every year McDonald York provides training and certification to all their employees. This year we had 83% of our employees attend one of 5 sessions offered. Valuable training for everyone! #firstaidtraining #constructionmanagement #CPRcertification

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Since its inception in 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been instrumental in addressing the challenges of millions of Americans living with mental health conditions. Taking care of oneself is crucial for mental well-being and overall health. It's inspiring to witness a growing number of individuals giving importance to their mental health alongside their physical well-being, including high-profile figures such as athletes and celebrities. This proactive approach is commendable as it promotes awareness, reduces stigma, and reinforces the message that seeking help for mental health is not only acceptable but encouraged. McDonald York is pleased to be able to offer our Employee Assistance Program, which among other services provides free, confidential, short-term counseling and personal consultation for mental health and substance abuse issues. #mentalhealthmonth2024 #constructionmanagement
