Lowell General Hospital is participating in the American Hospital Association’s Hospitals Against Violence Day. During department rounding and at the Workplace Safety & Violence Prevention Fair, team members held #HAVhope signs to highlight our collective commitment to stand against violence in our workplace and our community.

Tufts Medicine Lowell General Hospital is pleased to announce our recent DAISY Award® winner, Barbara Loan RN, Dahod 3! Barbara was nominated by one of her own patients after receiving extraordinary care during her post-operation stay. Her impressive clinical skills were remarked on her nomination and to quote her patient’s submission, “As a student nurse myself, two months away from holding a licensure, you were a great model of how I would want to be to my patients.” Thank you, Barbara, for your commitment to your patients and showcasing the extraordinary care you provide every single day! 

June is #PrideMonth! Lowell General Hospital team members helped start the month-long celebration by raising the Pride flag. We have a lot to celebrate this week at Tufts Medicine Lowell General Hospital! First up, congratulations to the Progressive Care Unit on receiving our annual Outstanding Team Award which is presented during National Nurses Week. This award is given to a team within Patient Care Services that exemplifies camaraderie, professionalism and dedication to working together to improve patient care. Next up, we're excited to announce our 2024 Nursing Excellence Award recipients. They were honored this week at our annual awards ceremony for exemplifying an unwavering commitment to patient care – a hallmark of the nursing profession. This award is presented to a nurse who emulates the enduring symbol of Florence Nightingale herself and represents the mission, hopes and expectations of the nursing profession to its members and to the world at large.
