The Customer Operations department at Lief Labs has played a critical role in the successful planning and execution of our customer’s orders. This accomplishment and many more have led to their recognition as Lief’s Department of the Month for May! Most recently, our Customer Operation team have enhanced our collaboration with our clients and have exceeded our key customer service metrics of delivering our products on time and in full. I'm grateful to have these individuals driving our customer-centric goals forward with dedication and expertise. Congratulations Customer Operations department!

During the Lief Labs quarterly Pep-Rally, we celebrated the achievements of our Maintenance department and recognized this talented group as Lief’s Department of the Month for April!   The Maintenance department’s demonstration of teamwork, drive, and adaptability has led to significant improvements in Lief’s attainment and output performance. Among their many achievements, they have shown an exceptional commitment to training/development, preventative maintenance, and addressing the root of downtime issues. I’m proud to say that their overall supportive outlook and ability to problem-solve has echoed throughout our organization.    Congratulations to the Maintenance department and thank you for your continuous dedication and collaboration!

Last week, I had the pleasure of joining fellow members of Natural Products Association on Capitol Hill for NPA’s annual Fly-In Day. This event is always a highlight of my year, offering a unique chance to speak directly with members of Congress about public policy impacting our industry. While on the Hill, I experienced firsthand the receptiveness of policymakers to our insights and suggestions regarding the key issues that the supplement industry is facing today. I’m thankful for the collaborative effort put forth by all involved. Let's continue working together to drive positive change.

This week marked a significant moment for our team as we carried out our latest initiative through our donation program, Lief Cares, which included a donation of 400 jars of Lief Cares Protein Powder nutritional supplements to Valley Oasis, a shelter for survivors of domestic violence. Our team members had the opportunity to personally deliver the donation and provide an overview of the Lief Cares program and the benefits of Lief Cares Protein Powder to several Valley Oasis staff members and participants of the Valley Oasis Shelter programs and services. Lief's Director of Planning and Procurement, Jeohvan Montoya, wrote an article for Nutrition Industry Executive/VRM Media that dives into the landscape of today's nutrition industry supply chain management. Jeohvan provides insight on the current supply chain outlook and also outlines strategic approaches to meet supply and demand objectives. One of the strategies that Jeohvan recommends, and is actively employing at Lief, is a customer-focused approach that includes in-depth discussions with customers about their needs, evaluating their forecasting data, and discussing parameters that align with both parties. Lief's R&D Manager, Shakeela Hashmi, wrote an article for Natural Products Insider on the benefits, innovation, and versatility that biotics can provide a product's formulation. Known primarily for their use in digestive health products, Shakeela shares that biotics can also provide benefits to products in other categories such as sports nutrition, nutricosmetics, and women's health. By outlining ingredients that compliment probiotics, Shakeela explains how brands can stand out in the market with innovative and unique formulations. Each month, the Lief Labs Growth Mindsetters recognize a department that has gone above and beyond to embody our company’s core values.  I’m proud to share that for the month of March we have recognized our Packaging department for demonstrating the values of teamwork, adaptable, and driven. Lief’s Packaging department has set several productivity records including increasing our average number of units produced per day by 26% compared to last quarter! In celebrating this achievement, it's crucial to recognize that our success is not driven solely by one department or individual effort. It is a collective triumph fueled by the collaborative spirit that defines our organization. Together, we will continue to innovate, excel, and drive success for our organization. Once again, congratulations to the Packaging department, and thank you to each and every one of you for your unwavering dedication and teamwork.

Adel Villalobos and Lief Labs had a special visit from long-time friend Anthony Almada, the co-Godfather of creatine and pioneer of evidence-based sports supplements, who helped usher in a new benchmark of credibility and consumer confidence. Anthony is an evidence-driven nutrition industry executive who works closely with our team to help us stay on the forefront of innovations! We also welcomed the PROBIOTICAL S.P.A. team from Italy, who are leaders in probiotics research, innovation, production, and customization worldwide. Their visit included a facility tour and a presentation to our team on the different probiotic strains and blends that Probiotical provides, the trends they see in the probiotic space, and how we can collaborate to create novel and effective products for our clients.
