Today is International Women in Engineering day. #INWED gives women engineers around the world a profile when they are still hugely under-represented, with 2021 figures indicating that in the UK only 16.5% of engineers are women. As the only platform of its kind, it plays a vital role in encouraging more young women and girls to take up engineering careers. To celebrate this year's theme of #EnhancedByEngineering we asked some of our women in engineering what inspires them about their field.

Join our team!   Legal Manager £57,176 to £62,695 pa   As our new Legal Manager you will use your leadership skills and specialist legal knowledge to drive strategy and service quality in our dynamic procurement and commercial legal team.   This is a senior role in the council’s Procurement and Commercial Services (PACS) team. As well as providing expert legal advice, you will influence decision making, promote innovation and be a leader and mentor to colleagues in the PACS legal team.   You will be a solicitor or barrister who holds or is qualified to obtain a current practising certificate in England and Wales. You will also bring in-depth knowledge of public procurement law and extensive experience managing the legal aspects of contracts and change programmes.
