Excited to have Teffie joining the team.
Landis Homes Appoints First Director of Dementia Friendly Experience Landis Homes is intensifying its commitment to provide a highly supportive environment for individuals living with memory loss. This initiative began with all team members receiving training in Positive Approach to Care (PAC), a program that teaches methods to interact with and care for those with dementia. It is endorsed by nationally recognized expert Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA. The next phase is to create a new role to oversee this work across all care levels within the organization. Stephanie “Teffie” Landmann has been named as the inaugural Director of Dementia Friendly Experience. A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and certified PAC trainer, Teffie has been teaching PAC learners since 2018. Her expertise in mentoring individuals and organizations on best practices for supporting those with memory loss has made her a sought-after speaker at healthcare associations and medical conferences. Prior to this, she held significant management positions in various rehabilitation roles, including Director of Rehabilitation overseeing multiple facilities. Teffie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a specialization in Microbiology, from the University of Akron. She also earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant/Licensed (COTA/L) from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC. Evon Bergey, Vice President of Operations/COO at Landis Communities, expressed enthusiasm about Teffie’s appointment. “Her extensive experience and knowledge, particularly as the Certification Programs Director for Positive Approach to Care, will be invaluable in enhancing our memory care initiative. Her strategic approach to business planning, problem-solving, and ability to improve resident and client experiences through effective education, program development, and policy creation will significantly contribute to our journey towards becoming a dementia friendly community.” Teffie is equally excited about her new role, stating, “I am eager to join the team and contribute to an already exceptional community. It’s an honor to be part of the initiative to enhance the dementia friendly experience throughout Landis Communities. I am committed to serving with curiosity, empowerment, and compassion to foster relationships and create a dementia friendly environment for all.” Landis Homes is a Continuing Care/Life Plan Community located in Manheim Township, Lancaster County, PA with a mission of serving aging adults and their families by honoring and enriching their lives in a community of Christ-like love. We are glad for this developing partnership with HDC MidAtlantic and look forward to developing more #affordablehousing for seniors in #readingpa
We’re excited to have taken two important steps toward the development of Cornerstone at 6th & Chestnut, a new affordable housing project for seniors in Reading, PA. This is a joint venture between Landis Quality Living and HDC MidAtlantic, and it will transform an old industrial site into 46 modern apartments. We had a great meeting with nearly 40 members of the community last night to share plans and listen to their feedback. We also received the green light from the City of Reading zoning board. Next step: applying for tax credits in January. . If those are awarded, site development can begin. Stay tuned for more updates on this initiative! #affordablehousing #ReadingPA

This is a great surprise and honor. Thanks to all the team members at Landis Homes who serve every day to make this possible.
We are excited! We were just named in Newsweek’s Top 10 of America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC’s) for 2024! The Newsweek/Statista list was created using surveys of medical professionals, residents and acquaintances, assessments of all levels of care, and accreditation by CARF (an independent, nonprofit accreditation organization). “It is wonderful to be recognized by our residents and local medical professionals in this Newsweek and Statista Ranking,” said Larry Zook, President/CEO of Landis Communities and Landis Homes. “This achievement is a reflection on our dedicated team, who everyday work to make sure residents receive the highest quality of care, and we are grateful to those who took the survey and shared their experiences in this effort.” https://lnkd.in/gNetuWhZ #ContinuingCare #RetirementLiving #lancastercounty
