Understanding the differences in telehealth experiences across demographic groups is crucial to addressing disparities in telehealth usage. This study identifies themes most pertinent to patients’ negative telehealth experiences by age and race, aiming to inform interventions that enhance future telehealth experiences. While common challenges were found, distinct aspects of telehealth experiences were highlighted by different demographics, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions to improve telehealth for all. #Telehealth #PatientExperience Read the full study: https://lnkd.in/eu-f92br Laura Cooley, PhD Sage

This study aimed to create a Patient-Reported Experience Measure (PREM) to compare care experiences in emergency departments, walk-in clinics, and primary care practices. Developed through a rigorous 5-phase mixed-methods approach, the Ambulatory Patient EXperience (APEX) questionnaire showed high clarity and usefulness, while pilot testing revealed significantly better access, cleanliness, and respectful treatment in clinics compared to EDs. This tool promises to enhance patient experience evaluation across diverse clinical settings. You can read more about the APEX questionnaire and the its promising impact on enhancing patient experiences and shaping the future of healthcare here: https://lnkd.in/eGy-hzJM #Healthcare #PatientExperience #QualityCare Laura Cooley, PhD Sage

India's healthcare system relies heavily on Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) as a foundational element. The WHO underscores the vital role of PHCs in enhancing community health. Our recent study delves into the patient perspectives at three PHCs in Bengaluru, revealing that patients evaluate these centers based on nine key themes, particularly valuing the behavioural aspects of the personnel. These insights highlight the need to integrate patient feedback into PHC performance metrics to improve service delivery and patient satisfaction.
