One of the last volunteer shifts of the 2023–2024 League Year was supporting Youth Home’s “Sparking Hope for Foster Youth” fundraiser. JLOEB volunteers were on deck assisting with tech and check-ins. We’ve been working with Youth Homes all year long in various ways. Learn more about their work: youthhomes.org Our League Year kicks off on June 1 with a picnic in Lafayette Reservoir. Members, don’t forget if you bring a friend you’ll be entered in a raffle. Keep an eye on the calendar for summer events!

Did you know that the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay (JLOEB) has dedicated over 7 million volunteer hours and $3 million in grants to the East Bay? Our Community Enrichment Fund (CEF) was created to allow JLOEB to contribute to the financial needs of community-based organizations located in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. At our May Celebration, we were thrilled to announce the recipients of our grants: two East Bay nonprofits doing incredible work in our community: Serenity House Oakland and Lotus Bloom. Fun was had by all at our annual Sustainer Luncheon on Sunday, May 5 at the Marriott Walnut Creek. During a delicious Cinco de Mayo-inspired lunch the ladies were treated to a talk by local author R. Franklin James, writer of the Hollis Morgan Mysteries which is now an A+E/Lifetime movie. We had the chance to learn about her life and journey to realizing her dream of being a novelist. Members also had a chance to hear from President Leslie Fisher and our incredible Sustainer Director Lisa Parker. We also awarded our Sustainer of the Year Award to Susan Hauser. Thank you Sustainers for another fantastic year, cheers to the next League Year. #JuniorLeague #JuniorLeagueOfOaklandEastBay #Sustainer

Did you know that the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay (JLOEB) is almost 100% volunteer-run? We couldn't do the work of Touch a Truck, or any of the trainings, community impact work, fundraising, and more without our volunteers. Our 2024 Touch a Truck Planning Committee was chaired by Sustainer Janel Wellborn, as well as a team of active and sustainer members including: Emily Wasserman, Kirsten Dunatov, Lacee Musgrove, Marisa Melo, and Erica Ames. We had 55 day-of volunteers consisting of JLOEB members and their friends and family. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Don't we look fun? Stay tuned for new member info sessions this summer if you're interested in joining our organization of incredible women making friends while making an impact in the East Bay. jloeb.org #JuniorLeague #TouchATruck #Volunteers

The Junior League of Oakland-East Bay's annual signature fundraising event Touch a Truck was a huge hit! 🎉 This year we were bigger and better than ever: we welcomed 969 guests and raised $25,000! A huge thank you to the planning committee led up by several sustainer members who returned to lead our beloved annual event. Thank you everyone that made the event a success. Check out buff.ly/4bgHxYq for more photos from the event courtesy of Junior League member Emily Means. The funds raised via this event go right back into our community work including our Community Enrichment Funds. #JuniorLeague #EastBay #TouchATruck
