What does it take to ocean row nearly 5,000 kilometres unaided across the Atlantic? Discipline, endurance and an extremely persistent mindset. Earlier this year team DragonFishRow made of Peter Wright and Steve Hayes, completed the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge. It’s known as the world’s toughest row. The Jersey-based duo rowed from La Gomera to Antigua in 54 days. Hydropool Hot Tubs & Swim Spas was a gold sponsor and part of their training programme included the use of a donated swim spa for workouts and recovery. The challenge has a deeper cause too, raising funds for charities Durrell and Macmillan Cancer Support Research Jersey. They have currently raised more than £40,000 and are still going.
