This morning, we also heard from panelists French Banking Federation's Maya Atig, Amundi AM's Jean-Jacques Barbéris and UniCredit's Pietro Carlo Padoan on enabling green growth; ADGM's Emmanuel Givanakis, AP1's Kristin Magnusson Bernard and HSBC's Andrew Wild on charting the course to transition; and NGFS' Jean Boissinot, European Banking Authority's José Manuel Campa, European Commission's Alexandra Jour-Schröder and BNP Paribas Asset Management's Sandro Pierri on the regulatory landscape for sustainable finance. We also were joined for one-on-one conversations with Eurogroup President Paschal Donohoe, Jaques Delors Institute President Enrico Letta, and Honorary Governor of the Banque de France, Christian Noyer. The afternoon program kicked off with an all-female panel on rethinking sustainable investment moderated by Sonja Gibbs, CFA, with Jessica Alsford of Morgan Stanley, 🌍 Lara de Mesa of Santander, Kristin Parello-Plesner of Danske Bank and Hacina Py of Société Générale. Banque de France Governor François Villeroy de Galhau weighed in on the debate around central bank mandates and climate finance: "You cannot, as a central bank, achieve price stability without taking into consideration climate change," while German State Secretary Jörg Kukies noted that "semiconductors will be at the epicenter of economic growth going forward" with innovative potential for medicine, autos, chemicals and more, and Germany wants to be at the core. The rest of the afternoon was filled with panels on enabling the real economy transition, financing green technology and building robust sustainable markets. Thanks to our speakers Lavinia Bauerochse of Deutsche Bank, Lee Clements of FTSE Russell, Jérôme Jean Haegeli of Swiss Re, Dr. Nicole Röttmer of Deloitte, Louis Blanchard of Qair, Ambroise Fayolle of EIB, Javier Rodriguez Soler of BBVA, Solange Rouschop of ABN AMRO, Anne-Sophie Castelnau of ING, John Ploeg of PGIM, Thomas Roulland of AllianzGI & Frédéric Samama of S&P Global Sustainable1.
