💡 The full potential of the Neuquen Basin is about to be unlocked... Managing future emissions from the basin pragmatically will help operators in Argentina maximize their profits while minimizing their impact on the environment. Our VP of International Markets, Mario Patiño spoke with Nicolás Gandini from EconoJournal on this topic yesterday during the Midstream & Gas Day in Buenos Aires. Here are our key takeaways from the discussion: 1️⃣ As crucial infrastructure projects are finalized, such as the Nestor Kirchner Pipeline and the Reversal of Northern Pipeline, Argentina will be able to increase Natural Gas production in Vaca Muerta both for internal demand and exports in a quick manner. 2️⃣ As Natural Gas production increases in the near term, it is crucial to quickly identify and repair large leaks across the value chain to leverage the full resource potential of Vaca Muerta. 3️⃣ A pragmatic methane program, one in which the industry frequently looks after large leaks across the entire value chain, allows Argentina to increase its market competitiveness, reduce GHG intensity, and prepare for excellent export market potential. We're excited to announce our new partnership with S&P Global Commodity Insights to generate reliable, anonymized, and measurement-informed methane emissions estimates. This partnership builds on our methane emissions benchmarks, which are the industry’s only measurement-based, apples-to-apples comparison of methane performance in each basin. Our benchmarks are Veritas-aligned, have been validated by scientists at Stanford and Columbia Universities, and are the best way for operators to prove their methane performance.
