What role does generative AI play in the classroom? It’s a divisive topic among educators. Some believe that it can diminish students’ ability to fully understand materials, while others see it as a useful tool that students will inevitably encounter in the professional world, and may even level the playing field to accommodate different learning styles. Reinforced concrete is one of the preferred methods of bridge construction worldwide, safely transporting millions of people each day. Behind the scenes, engineers are exploring new technologies to more accurately inspect these vital structures and ensure their continued structural integrity. Recently, 3D radar imaging has proven to be a promising tool that effectively identifies defects, even underneath the steel mesh cores of reinforced concrete. Dating back to the 1990s, e-commerce in its current form has had unprecedented global impacts during a relatively short period. Though exchanging goods online dates back to the 1970s, these transactions still required money to be handed off in person. This all changed in 1994 when a college student made the first known credit card sale over the Internet, paving the way for today’s multi-trillion-dollar e-commerce industry. The historic transaction was for a copy of Sting's 1993 album Ten Summoner's Tales, selling for $12.48 plus shipping.
