Women's History Month: Operations Team Spotlight MaryKate Blanchfield, Operations Manager, Agawam. An Army veteran, Blanchfield came to Hood after a previous career in financial planning. “I realized quickly that was not the job for me. I wanted to make an impact and be a leader. I started at Hood in 2013 as the warehouse manager and was promoted to operations manager about three and a half years later.” Her military experience was a natural fit. “I wanted to be a leader,” she explains. “Once I started at Hood, I really enjoyed the dairy industry and learning new things, which is why I wanted to be the operations manager and aspire to be a plant manager in the future. My current plant manager, David Laden, has been a great mentor and has been extremely supportive of my endeavors.” She applauds Hood’s efforts to encourage other women to have the confidence to pursue their career “Over my years at Hood, I have seen more women enter leadership roles. I think it is great to see that we work for a company that is so diverse and values individuals based on what they bring to the table.” #workathood #womenshistorymonth
