The Ask: Develop bespoke art and experiential moments inside One Workplace’s office, sharing hints of what they do and some history with employees and guests. The Approach: Collaborate to learn about the history of One Workplace WA and the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, WA. The Solution: Create a French toile-inspired wall graphic for the entry wall of One Workplace’s office. The vignettes tell One Workplace WA’s story with illustrations based on their history and local landmarks from the Georgetown neighborhood. The Ask: Develop art, wayfinding, placemaking, and experiential moments. Weave together the narrative from the depths of the parking garage to the top floor amenities. The Approach: Discover strategies for navigating the building through intuitive prompts. Collaborate to develop ways to illuminate the story throughout the building using artworks, murals, and kinetic sculptures. The narrative/storytelling came to life across several mediums. The Solution:  Starting in the parking garages, characters and motifs activate the narrative, telling the story of Skyglass. Like a crystal, you start at the solid foundation of the building then transition upward to ethereal colors and light. Upon arriving at the top floor, the Skyglass shines bright with 4 sliding stained glass panels, dispersing color and light across the space. Designed by HEWITT and developed by Gemdale USA Corporation, the 33-story apartment tower is located just a few blocks from the Seattle Center. Dayna Dealy and l really liked the “Skyglass” art feature in the skylounge, designed by House of Sorcery, and of course the great interior design by Weber Thompson. The Ask: Create, not just meeting rooms, but the visual centerpiece of Indigo Slate's new office in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square. The ambitious goal was to craft immersive experiences that would narrate the compelling story of the Indigo Slate brand. The Approach: Embark on a world-building journey, establish the persona of the "Indigo Explorer" and craft a captivating backstory. Drawing on Indigo Slate's passion for movies and sci-fi, each of the six rooms became a unique world visited by the explorer for inspiration. The Solution: (6) unique 8’ x 8’ meeting room pods, themed around a spaceship visiting alien planets, designed and built with materials including (but not limited to): crochet barnacles and moss, wallcovering graphics, flocking, LED lighting, CNC-routed plywood, acrylic accent pieces, dichroic film, and gold leaf embellishment. Opportunity for hire after contract. Studio Team Opportunities - Experienced Fabricators, Studio Assistants (and occasionally project based temps for when we have overflow work). Studio roles are about 75% building, framing, painting, and finish work and about 25% planning, organization, and communication. We will look for someone with a wide range of fabrication experience, who can work independently, excellent communication, demonstrated proficiency with the tools and has experience with a high level of quality/finish in their work. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience required. We are always on the lookout for talented collaborators to join our team. Getting to work with such great clients & partners, and then seeing it all come together and then published, is definitely ending the year on a high note. This was a fun one and we were grateful to be a part of such a great team.
