Today I had the great opportunity to visit one of our Hirschbach family of customers. While receiving a tour of their farm to packing facility, I had the pleasure in meeting our most valuable asset. One question I hear a lot from our customers is “how do you maintain the family feel given your size?” The customer I visited today is a fifth generation producer that has been in operation for 125 years. The amount of responsibility and respect I feel in ensuring we provide a value to this operation is unlike any other. We started this business a little over a month ago, where today myself and operations went back to have a full field to packing tour/understanding. We will continue to learn their business and understand it just as well as they do. With time our value and partnership will only grow. This industry does not have to be as transactional as some want it to be. Technology has become such a great tool in efficiency, but it is important to remember that a good partner learns, understands, and grows with your business.

Meet Thomas, a Hirschbach professional OTR driver and Air Force Veteran. On his way back from delivering a load of avocados in California, he was able to meet his Hirschbach Driver Leader, Tony, for the first time. Aurora moves freight round trip with Uber Freight daily, and also with my company, Hirschbach. Fun fact: our CEO Richard Stocking is actually on the board for Aurora! About last night… Kicking off #CarrierSummit2024 was a home run! No really, we got to see the Texas Rangers vs. Cleveland Guardians at Globe Life Field — with a win the size of Texas! ⚾ And the wins kept coming as I was able to catch up with some of my favorite folks at Uber Freight, like Alyssa Correale + Neal Connors. We swapped pre-game predictions with Optimal Dynamics CEO Daniel Powell. We rounded out the night with an amazing after party at Texas Live! — and geared up for a full day of sessions at Carrier Summit. I'm excited for what the rest of the day will bring! - Connie Sperry
