HeyMama is a private, inclusive community for working moms who are building their careers and families. #HeyMama

About us

Like all good ideas, HeyMama started as a solution to a problem. Founders Amri Kibbler and Katya Libin set out to create what was missing in their own lives: a community of career-driven mothers who have each others’ backs and actively seek to improve their lives while also lifting up those around them. It seemed so obvious that something like this should exist, so they built it. In the years since, the HeyMama team and community of members has grown like wild — turns out, this is a need a lot of women have been missing. And our shared hunger for a community to pour our energy into makes sense. As professionally ambitious women, the odds are against our continued achievement after having kids. A stark lack of systemic support and resources affects working mothers across all industries, both a product of the stigma against working moms and fuel for its continuation. The relationships we build — and the networks through which we build them — are the invaluable basis of all the ways we thrive and succeed. The fact that our kids are watching how we work and how we conduct our lives adds even more pressure — we want to model a healthier, more vibrant and balanced working life and community for our kids as much as we want it for ourselves. Helping moms find each other and connect in meaningful ways is a complicated task — and it’s exactly what HeyMama does. As diverse as our goals and lives are, HeyMama members have one thing in common: We have incredibly high expectations for our careers and personal lives — and no single one of us knows everything we need to know to make it all work. HeyMama is an ecosystem built for members to come together for the collective benefit and advancement of the whole community, in our work, our families, and ourselves.

We believe that motherhood belongs on the resume. It’s time we tear down the cultural bias against mothers that’s impacting their careers, and recognize motherhood for what it really is: a training ground for leadership. 🌟 In 2024, Motherhood on the Resume (MOTR) is back to challenge the status quo and break down the barriers mothers face in the workforce. This year, we're focusing on actionable insights and inspiring stories to support mothers aiming to re-enter the workforce or pivot their careers. Join us this Thursday, May 9th, as we expand our campaign to value moms in the workplace, de-stigmatize career breaks for motherhood, and highlight the unparalleled strengths mothers bring to their professional roles. Our movement is more than a campaign; it's a call to action for businesses to recognize motherhood as a badge of leadership and resilience.

Last week Luminary had the privilege of co-hosting an unforgettable event at Ted Baker in Soho, and our latest Luminary Field Trip, where our community came together for an evening of empowerment, networking, and inspiration. From an inspiring discussion led by some of our very own Luminary Members to meaningful connections forged between attendees as they shopped and networked, it was a special evening filled with energy and enthusiasm. Luminary Members Marisa Renee Lee, author of Grief Is Love, and Amri Kibbler Co-Founder of HeyMama, and our very own Founder Cate Luzio joined Sarah Beugoms from Ted Baker in reminding women that there’s power in vulnerability. The conversation pivoted from lessons learn from early points in their careers to sharing vulnerable moments that shaped them and their journeys into the women they are today to how they use their style to empower. For the second year in a row, Luminary has partnered with Ted Baker to lead these vulnerable conversations. Sales proceeds of the evening also benefitted Bottomless Closet and it was great to have their Executive Director Melissa Norden there with us. We didn’t just make a fashion statement; we also made a positive impact! A big thanks to Sarah Beugoms, Fiona Zeman and Olivia Owens at Ted Baker for making this Field Trip happen! #WomenInTheWorkforce #GenderEquity #WomensHistoryMonth #Community #Empowerment #Leadership

What an incredible reflection and initiative sparked by one of our esteemed guests from the recent HeyMama Empowering Women in Media event! 🌟 In the spirit of #InternationalWomensDay, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and inspiration by the stories of giving and receiving that filled the room. It's a powerful reminder that when we open ourselves to both, we unlock the true potential of community and collaboration. The idea that was born in this space, as beautifully shared by Emily Frieze-Kemeny , challenges us all to "stand up" and offer our unique gifts and expertise. It's about creating a culture of support and empowerment that transcends the event itself. So, in echoing this brilliant call to action: ✨ Come talk to us if you're looking to connect with a passionate community of women who are changing the face of media and entrepreneurship. ✨ Come talk to us if you're seeking advice on building meaningful networks that nurture both personal and professional growth. ✨ Come talk to us if you believe in the power of collaboration and are eager to make a difference, together. Now, it's your turn! What can you offer? How can you contribute to our rising tide? A heartfelt thank you to Emily Frieze-Kemeny for not only being in my orbit but for also inspiring this movement. And a special shoutout to Fran Hauser for her wisdom and generous spirit. Let's continue to support and uplift each other, because together, we all rise. #HeyMama #WomenInMedia #Empowerment #CommunityOverCompetition #TogetherWeRise

Bridging humanity and profitability. Because leadership, culture, and change are the hard stuff of business.

This post is for the givers in the house. It is inspired by Amri Kibbler, founder of HeyMama who I am lucky to have in my orbit. In celebration of #internationalwomensday I attended an incredible HeyMama Empowering Women in Media event. I am usually the giver in a group. Relentless problem-solver + Recovering people pleaser + Really big heart. So to be at a networking event where woman after woman stood up in the room and said, “Come up to me if you want help with…” and for me to say YES and experience RECEIVING was such a gift. So it gave me an idea!! What if we all did what these women did and “stand up” and say… “Come talk to me if…” I will start…. ✨ Come talk to me if you’re frustrated with your team/orgs performance. ✨ Come talk to me if you want strategies to grow as a leader while taking care of your wellbeing. ✨ Come talk to me if you need a dose of optimism about the future of work or just some optimism, period. Your turn! What do you have to give? Together we all rise. Thank you Amri Kibbler for the inspiration. Thank you Fran Hauser for your wisdom and generous spirit. #giving #leadingwithheart #womenentrepreneurs

Insights from Empowering Women Through Media: Inspiring Inclusion Celebrating Women's History Month As professionals dedicated to advancing the landscape for women in business, our recent event offered profound insights into the importance of diversity, authenticity, and community in shaping a more inclusive media industry. Highlights from our Esteemed Speakers: ⭐ Zibby Books demonstrated the impact of creating spaces for like-minded individuals to foster collaboration and innovation. ⭐ Alicia Quarles advocated for the essential role of respect and kindness in establishing credibility and trust in professional relationships. ⭐ Sylvia Banderas Coffinet emphasized the significance of embracing diverse stories to cultivate compassion and understanding. ⭐ Kanika Chadda Gupta discussed the value of vulnerability and humor in building meaningful connections through interviews. The consensus was clear: authenticity is not just vital; it's transformative. In a gathering that felt more like a confluence of media VIPs, the exchange of advice, insights, and support underscored the event's success. This experience has not only enriched our professional journeys but also reinforced the collective power of women in media. Let's continue to champion these values in our workplaces and beyond 😍 Gratitude to our co-hosts HeyMama Co Founder Amri Kibbler & CEO Erika Hanafin Feldhus & Kanika Chadda Gupta, gorgeous location Industrious, partner Gender Fair: A Public Benefit Corporation , stellar photographer Rashmi Gill and cupcakes by @bakedbymelissa. #Empowerment #WomenInMedia #ProfessionalGrowth #InclusionAndDiversity

Say hello to Rachel Meakins, Jenna Rykiel, M.S., MBA, LCS, Rebecca Orlov, and Bethany Braun-Silva - this week's #HeyMamaCommunityConnectors! Community is at the cornerstone of HeyMama. We know that we are each capable of doing anything, but none of us are able to do everything alone. We are creating Connectors to help facilitate quality connections and conversations. Connectors will be our “community builders” and encourage all members within subsets of community to spark the connection between members and events. 💫
