Leveraging our OBGYN, Dr. Kneesel's expertise, and the hospital's skilled nursing team, we quickly diagnosed and managed a critical HELLP syndrome with a large abruption. Within just 16 minutes of arrival, our well-coordinated team, guided by Hera's maternal-fetal medicine training simulations, executed a life-saving emergency c-section. Impressively, this was achieved without a blood transfusion, a testament to our precise and effective practices. Today, both mother and baby are thriving and on their way home, a true success story of our collaborative practice. "Practice makes perfect," and Hera Health is at the forefront, guiding what and how to practice for the best outcomes (refer to our July 31, 2023, post for more insights). Witnessing Innovation in Women's Healthcare: Simulation Training at CommonSpirit St. Rose Siena and San Martin Hospitals Check out these incredible moments from my recent visit to Siena Hospital's Labor & Delivery simulation training. I had the privilege to observe the dedicated team of Hera Health hospitalist and L&D nursing staff in action, focusing on severe range hypertension and the development of eclampsia, a leading cause of maternal death during pregnancy. The experience was truly awe-inspiring, as it highlighted the immense value of simulations in preparing healthcare professionals for less common but critical situations that could lead to terrible outcomes. Special thanks to Hera's Dr. Oraee, Dr. Adler and Dr. Iriye and the entire Siena Labor & Delivery nursing staff for their dedication and passion in driving excellence in patient care.
